It’s election time! If you haven’t voted already — and a lot of you have — make sure you get out to the polls today. Turnout is usually low on primaries, and these interminable thunderstorms will probably keep many at home, but several local races will be decided today.
Hopefully you’ve done your civic due diligence, looked at your sample ballot, and learned all you can about the candidates for whom you’re eligible to vote. You can feel strongly about issues, you can argue back and forth about what should be done to fix things, you can post angry comments on blogs and social networks — but the only real power is in your vote. That’s why so much money is spent trying to secure it. (There have been almost $1 million in Escambia County political contributions since the beginning of the year.)
So go! Polls close at 7 tonight. Don’t know your precinct? Find it at EscambiaVotes.com.
